Politicians are 10 years behind the times when it comes to hemp use. People have been fighting for a long time against marijuana and pot prohibition with some movement going on now. Still too slow for those caught up in the jail system for possessing a little weed. Our freedoms have been trampled on by folks who know nothing about how beautiful cannabis can be for someones life, if one learns how to grow cannabis. Keep up the good work.

There is some good research here, but more than a bit of overt hatred for anything except the status-quo, suggesting a political bias. As far as the Herer hemp conspiracy goes, perhaps it is not all true, but without more economic research, I don't think Hearst can be ruled out entirely for demonizing cannabis on economic grounds. Paper made from trees requires huge investments, which Hearst had made. Perhaps his decision to ban marijuana was multi-faceted with economic and ideological elements. Control freak that he obviously was, perhaps he simply felt too old to switch gears to an untested product that he did not totally control. Hearst owned both production and transportation infrastructure related to wood pulp paper. Would he have saved money after an expensive transition even if hemp was cheaper? Hearst was not like modern day Rupert Murdoch, who appears to be purely mercenary with an even far right ideology. Hearst added unpredictable elements of his own, arguably unstable personality and constantly shifting political ideas to his business ventures. A serious analysis is clearly needed, which this is clearly not. This author gets more and more extreme toward the end of this rant, which ought to be a red flag for his lack of meaningful research (and his conviction). He may, indeed, be right, but his refutation of Herer requires more research.

Havnt readd all rhis, but dont be dissing Jack

Economically,if you have paper, made of wood pulp, where you need acres of land of to produce wood, which takes 28 years to harvest, meeans that people/potential competitors cant join the industry,as it takes the lifetime of a tree to produce wood, whereas if it were grown with hemp, youd have 4 times the paper per acre of hemp, than you would from trees, and at certain parts of the world can have 3 or 4 harvest a year!Which will mean paper will become an industry easy to join, and paper would be far far cheaper, paper companies might even start printing papers themselves,

Maybe its you who is the ''Conspiracy Theorist''one things for sure, you dont know much about economics, the effect of extremely cheap&easily renewable paper on the paper industry would be unsubstantiated, also to note about Hearst,is that you cant just bring hemp to a wood paper manufacturer and produce paper from the hemp, the printing press is built for wood paper, which needs additional chemicals etc,the loss of this industry to Hemp would have ruined Hearst

If Jack Herer has published half truths when will you be collecting the $100,000 reward for proving the falsifications?
